WHY SHOULD I NOT HOLD THE GATE TO THE SWIMMING POOL COMPOUND OPEN TO OTHER PEOPLE OUTSIDE MY OWN GROUP?
The gate records all entries and exists and for insurance purposes we are required to hold this information. If a member holds the gate open for someone outside their group, their entrance will not be recorded.
WHY IS THE POOL NOT OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND?
The committee has fully explored winter swimming and due to cost, manpower requirements and limited demand it has been deemed unviable.
WHY IS THERE NOT MORE FREE SWIMMING? WHY IS THERE NOT MORE BOOKABLE SWIMMING?
We are fully aware that the membership is made up of a variety of people with very different needs. The committee has therefore looked very carefully at the mix of free and bookable swimming. After a lot of deliberation and consultation we feel that the mix is just right at the moment, especially as we also now offer lane swimming during the week.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY GUESTS?
We respectfully ask everyone to pay £2 for every adult guest and £1 for a child guest. You can pay via bank transfer, QR code (displayed in the signing in room), cash (into the big box on the wall in the signing in room) or, if you still have any, using guest tickets. Please do not forget to sign your guests in.
WHAT DO I DO IF MY GATE CARD IS LOST OR DOES NOT WORK?
Please contact the membership secretary who will assist if the card is not working, but if it is damaged or lost, a new gate card will have to be issued. The cost of a new card is £15 including postage and packing.
WHAT HAPPENS TO LOST PROPERTY?
Any lost property found in the swimming pool compound is placed on the Lost Property shelves in the signing-in room. Members who have lost any items are requested to look on these shelves. If you are unable to find your lost item there please contact the membership secretary. However, the committee reserves the right to dispose/donate any Lost Property which has not been claimed for more than 2 months.
HOW DO I CANCEL A BOOKING FOR A LANE?
You can cancel a future booking using the confirmation email you were sent and following the link provided. Alternatively you can use the Cancel a Booking menu option under the Book a swim tab (you will need the booking reference to cancel). You can then rebook for a different day and/or time.
If you didn’t receive the booking confirmation, or have mislaid or deleted it, you can always use the “My Bookings” tab to list out your recent bookings.
Please cancel as soon as you know that you need to, as this will then allow another member to book that slot.
Cancelling at the very last minute is just as inconsiderate as not turning up for the slot.
I AM HAPPY FOR OTHER MEMBERS TO SHARE MY BOOKED LANE. IS THAT POSSIBLE VIA THE BOOKING SYSTEM?
We are so thrilled that members are happy to share their booked lanes with fellow members. For this purpose we have provided flags that you can fix to the lane marker to indicate this. However, unfortunately we cannot make this possible through the booking system beacuse if the orginal member wanted to cancel their booking it will cause major confusion and problems with the 'sharing' member.
WHY ARE THERE NO BINS IN THE SWIMMING POOL COMPOUND?
We do not have bins in the swimming pool compound because there is no refuse collection from the pool. We therefore politely ask all members to take their rubbish home with them.
