Dear 2026 SSPC Member
Thank you for bearing with us on the first day of swimming! The operations team worked incredibly hard to ensure that we did open on Friday 3 April, as promised, despite a few hours delay.
Thank you also to everyone who came to our little opening party. It was so nice to see so many of the old faces as well as some of our brand new members enjoying a little dip and partaking in a slice of cake and a hot drink.
Please be aware that the gate closing times will change on 27 April, to 8:40pm and will change again on Monday 11 May to 9:10pm.
May we also please remind everyone that dogs are not allowed in the pool compound.
MAY EVENTS
This month we have three events lined up for you. Please be aware that all these events are weather dependent so do check the website to make sure there are no changes to the plans.
Friday, 1 May - Coffee/Tea Swim - 10.30am to 11.30am
Casual coffee and tea, with a selection of biscuits/traybakes. All lanes are available for free swimming during the time. A chance for a chat and to meet other SSPC members.

Enjoy a swim by moonlight. No booking required, just come along.
Sunday, 17 May - Kids Splash - Inflatable Madness - 3.00pm to 4.00pm
Bring your inflatable and have fun in the pool with other kids. No booking required, just come along. Parents/guardians please be aware that you will need to be on-site and normal supervision rules apply.
VOLUNTEERING
Thank you to everyone who came along to the volunteering morning. We do hope that you found it helpful. What a beautiful sunny morning we had for it.
Also many thanks to everyone who volunteered to do one of the duties over the season. You can find the rota for both weekend and weekdays on our website, so do check if you are not sure what date you are signed up for.
For everyone who is on sweeping of the compound duty, may we please remind you that carefully sweeping all around the pool is really important to ensure blossom, leaves, acorns etc (depending on the time of year) does not get into the pool and then clog up the filters. MANY THANKS!
We still have few slots which have not been allocated yet, so if you can help please let Bettina know which slot you can fill. These are:
- 6 to 10 July – Toilets
- 29 & 30 August – Toilets
- 12 & 13 September – Toilets
- 19 & 20 September – Toilets
- 26 & 27 September – Changing Cubicles
- 10 & 11 October - Toilets / Changing Cubicles
- 17 & 18 October – Toilets / Changing Cubicles
Many thanks in advance!
MERCHANDISE
Many of you have already purchased either the light blue or mid blue swimming caps, £8 each. In fact some members decided to get both! I am sure you will agree they are great value for money and super stylish.
We also have waterproof kit bags available for just £6.
Do have a look in the signing in room where all these are displayed, and if you fancy purchasing any of them simply go on the website and follow the link. Alternatively send a message to Bettina, who will assist.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
