Dear 2026 SSPC Member
What a great start to the month of May!
The Coffee/Tea Swim on 1 May was incredibly well attended and we were able to welcome many of our newest members. What glorious weather we enjoyed and the pool was sparkling!
This was then followed by our ever popular Twilight Swim and Inflatable Madness. Thank you so much to everyone who came along.
The Shere Open Gardens Event will take place on Sunday 14 June this year. We know that many of our members get involved by either opening their gardens or volunteering on the day, or simply visiting the event. If you haven’t been before, do come along! It’s a great day out. The organisers of the event are well aware that parking for anyone who wants to swim on the day of the SOG can be tricky. They have therefore very kindly suggested that all those members who are coming to Shere to swim can park in the Surgery car park. Simply tell the attendant that you are a member of the pool and are here to swim and they will accommodate you. Thank you Cathy for organising this!!!
A big thank you to the Shere Village Cinema who are opening their doors for us on Monday 15 June. The evening will be part of our fundraising efforts, largely to support our solar heating project. We will kick off at 7pm with a quick update on the pool and an opportunity to buy drinks at our bar, as well as any of the SSPC merchandise. We will also be running a raffle with very exciting prizes donated by some of the fabulous businesses in our area. This will then be followed by the screening of “ON A CLEAR DAY”, a heartwarming film about a recently unemployed Glaswegian who plans to swim the English Channel. Tickets are available on the Shere Village Cinema website.
